Gender creative? came across this story about neil patrick harris defending these parents from a james wood's tweet etc. http://alt.com Now if you've been following along you know that I don't have a problem with people in general. Be what you want to be without labeling it. So I was kinda confused when this mother labeled her " gender creative"...that is a term that I never heard of.. The article doesn't really go into detail about the ....but from the pics it appears that the boy likes to wear dresses and makeup.. I had to really do a double take when the article used the term ""...seeing how it no longer applies to the genitals one is born with...was this an actual boy or was this a girl in transition to becoming their ? Honestly I am cool with all of this.. but even I was confused.. gender creative? ( now we can be creative with gender?) Are they implying their is effeminant? ( I only ask because the mother's blog is entitled "raising my lil rainbow"..( which is cute if the dude is say 2 not like 10-12) Are the parents making some implication about their 's sexual orientation?( cause as tv tells us any time a isn't manly then he is obviously gay...bound to become either a designer or florist or hairdresser or is this honestly a case where a boy is born male and identifies as male BUT enjoys doing things normal associated with women/girls? and if so then why do we have to act like this is some sorta victim of society? we don't judge girls that enjoy doing traditionally masculine things. Hell if anything we label them as being "empowered".. If anything girls are gender fluid across traditional roles...boys? are put into a box and nailed shut so why can't we extend that same courtesy to boys..? why do we have to shoe horn them into some definition of what a male should be? Why does society have such a problem with a boy wearing makeup? Even worse is when a boy wants to do something "girlish" he is immediately throw into the "gay" category.. to which I never understood. Being gay doesn't mean acting like a woman.. I'm very into dudes and never once did I want to be female/ I never wanted to act feminine... there are plenty of cross dressing men that are completely straight.. So I honestly think these parents are doing their a disservice with this mommy blog....sure I get that you wish society to accept your and his love of makeup etc. But at the same time she is treating him like a victim..she acting like he has some form of terminal cancer of something .so your likes to wear dresses and makeup.... afraid to tell you parents...NOONE cares....deal with that dad! Sure i'd love boys to have more options...but I think these parents get off on all the attention and praise from the LGBTQ? community |

Well I honestly could care less about James woods. I just thought the term the mom used was "different ". I mean hasn't the media trained us to see someone like her son as transgendered?
