Clothing styles seem to come back...the trouble is...generalization...can we fit into them when they come around again?

One generation's cast-offs is the next generations vintage treasure. But that doesn't quite explain why no-one wants my self-patched South Sea Bubble jeans!

"Volun-told"! <<< (the Bargee clapping with gleeful delight)

This is instantly my favourite portmanteau word of the decade!

Please may I have your permission to use it?

Thats funny, the same thing is happening here, cleaning up my closet... i dont have any 80s lying around anymore... but still too much in store, never going to wear them... (again)

The trends tend to do come back, but always with a changed pattern, or rim, or such.. so you still will look a bit off or just silly....

These trousers!!! i made those!! so lovely to see them again!

Funny. I just cleaned out my wardrobe. A full bag of 25-year-old suits with 30-inch waistbands are sitting on my front porch this morning waiting for AMVETS to pick them up. I got tired of battling to get my waist to shrink down from 33-34. Wrecking my rotator cuff so I can't chop wood or work around my country place to get the weight off was the last straw.

Despite the padding of shoulders, I still think it is a classy look. I bet you looked smashing in your 80's garb.

Thank you for sharing such a lovely personal vignette

Re the SSB jeans.... they are not where I thought they were.

I suspect foul play. But sadly this means I have nothing to trade!
