i'm in the adult beverage phase of my life.

I went with meditating outdoors because I have the perfect place for it, but I could easily have combined talking to a good friend over a glass of wine with sitting outdoors in the mountains and enjoying the fall colors (which is what I usually do). In the summer, I'd just take a long swim in a mountain lake. Could still do that now, but it'd be a short swim.

My best recharging place/activity is not listed ... ... a long slow soak in a deep bathtub, with the addition of appropriate essential oils to achieve whatever result I need (rebalancing, relaxing, revitalising, etc.) ~juicyslut~

When I sit outdoors with a lady friend and a glass of wine enjoying the fall colors or the antics of fawns playing in the shallows of the lake, it usually involves an hour or two soaking in my outdoor spa, which substitutes for the hot springs I used to soak in in Japan. When I'm alone, the spa gets most use in the winter as a means of heating my body prior to going to sleep in my mountain cabin, which can get pretty damn cold. This is a practice I also picked up in Japan, where the super-heated water of the wooden bath tub or the public bath prepares you for sleeping in a freezing-cold paper house. If Rotarua were located on the lower end of the South Island its hot springs could be used for the same purpose.
