I think it comes down to a new look of being entitled. So many feel they are owed anymore and I am not sure where that mind set comes from. However, the homeless person turning down food usually means it was not food they were after but the cash either to buy smokes, drugs or drink, or it has been in my experience

Sometimes, in the most unexpected moments, i get a very big feel of being grateful, of all the things happen in my life
being sooo rich... being so thankful.

to be alive and have a house and a income and some friends, and other nice people in my life.....

other times i am in a bad shape, but i know that even that bad shape is there to learn something from...
to grow....

Yes, it does seem like that sense of entitlement has become very prevalent in our society. I will help anyone but there comes a time when people need to step up and help themselves.
