What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
Time and money really aren't an issue but I really want to scuba dive. I can tend to be somewhat claustrophobic so I've always shied away.

What fictional place would you most like to go?
Oh, it would have to be OZ......who wouldn't want to see flying monkeys !

What’s the best single day on the calendar?
Okay, this is truly corny but every day that I can wake and be part of this thing called mankind is the best day.

NF

To me, the Best Day is when I awake to start every day

I would have to think about a hobby

My fictional place would be where ALL people are treated equally and with respect regardless or race, religion, sexual proclivity etc!!

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw

Vanilla hobby: buying a nice Les Paul electric guitar and a great amp, and learning some new tunes

Kinky hobby: setting up the best BDSM "dungeon" around.

Fictional place: Whoville, providing the Grinch still has a big heart. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much kink there...maybe I could introduce it

Day on the calendar...1st day of the year where no snow is forecast for the next 9 months.

I've tried all kinds of hobbies: Strategic war gaming to start, card games (bridge and poker), model soldiers (both as a kid and an adult), but the one I've stuck with is converting a 25-acre wooded mountain property into a replica of the fabled Saihoji moss garden in Kyoto. I've been at it since I bought the property as a teen ager. It perfectly complements many of my other interests. I built a lake fed by a spring on the property that I use for swimming, canoeing, and bass and blue-gill fishing. I built a cabin with an English basement and loft that I use for entertaining guests and as a dungeon. I do (or did) most of the work myself, hauling giant boulders out of the mountain with a logging chain, a trailer and a 4x4 SUV and positioning them with winches and digging irons to form waterfalls, stone walls or rock gardens. I ferry Japanese stone lanterns across the lake and position them to accent features like fern beds. The cabin is heated by a wood stove and fireplace. Keeping them supplied with split firewood kept me in shape until I screwed up my rotator cuff. Everything considered, it's been a great hobby. Even during the years I lived overseas I would return every couple of years and resume working on it, and while I was away the memories of my accomplishments or the plans for new ones were a comfort.

If I could go to a fictional place, it would probably be Robinson Crusoe's island. The challenge of living alone, creating my own shelter and fortress and surviving in an island paradise has been a major feature of my dreams since I first read the book. Camelot, as depicted in the musical, might be my second choice. Joseph Conrad's mythical village where Lord Jim finally found redemption has always appealed to me as well.

The best day on the calendar is probably the 4th of July. First, it's warm, second it connotes some of my favorite activities, hot dogs, baseball, patriotism, fireworks, swimming, celebration and friendship... but it's a hard choice. They're all good.

Single best day on the calendar is anytime my children come home to visit.

A hobby I would do constantly if I could. Black and white film developing and photography. I absolutely adore it.
